A practical starting point for growing businesses
Sekurzen Guard helps growing businesses identify and control defined sensitive information as people communicate, collaborate, and share files. It brings context-aware detection, operational visibility, blocking or quarantine, and useful evidence into a focused DLP experience that can be introduced at a manageable pace.
If you would like to discuss your environment and see how this could work in practice, book a Sekurzen Guard demo.
Sekurzen Guard supports the collaboration environments many growing businesses already use: Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams) and Google Workspace (Gmail and Google Drive). This lets a business apply a consistent DLP approach across its current environment and expand coverage as its collaboration needs grow.
What businesses can put to work
Use the following capability areas to shape a practical first deployment:
- supported detectors, including personal, financial, health, and organization-specific data types
- contextual matching, confidence rules, and tuning options
- actions in each workload, including audit, alert, warn, block, quarantine, and approved exceptions
- visibility into incidents, scan health, quarantine work, policy activity, and response progress
- evidence available to investigators, auditors, and compliance stakeholders
- deployment architecture and platform integration for Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, data handling, service levels, support, and administration
Confirm the action and user experience in each workload, then start with a small, high-value scenario that the team can operate confidently.
Guard architecture: define the control boundary
Use the pilot to document four boundaries clearly:
- Connect: identify the Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace tenants, users, workloads, destinations, and data types in scope.
- Detect: confirm which detectors, contextual signals, confidence thresholds, and tuning controls identify the selected information.
- Decide: map each scenario to an explicit response such as audit, warn, block, quarantine, or an approved exception.
- Evidence: confirm which events, actions, exceptions, quarantine records, and response ownership are available for investigation and review.
The proposal should also state the deployment model, integration points, administrative roles, processing locations, retention and deletion responsibilities, service levels, support path, and dependencies. Treat these as questions to validate with Sekurzen rather than assumptions about a generic DLP product.
Workload coverage to validate
Microsoft 365
- Starting workloads
- Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
- Confirm during the pilot
- Supported detectors, user experience, and audit, warn, block, or quarantine actions for each workload.
Google Workspace
- Starting workloads
- Gmail and Google Drive.
- Confirm during the pilot
- Supported detectors, sharing scenarios, user experience, and policy actions for each workload.
Do not treat a platform name as proof of complete coverage. Record the exact action, destination, user experience, evidence, and exception behavior for every workload that matters to the business.
When Sekurzen Guard can help
Sekurzen Guard is especially helpful when:
- the priority is defined PII, financial, health, or organization-specific information
- Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Gmail, or Google Drive are the main leakage channels
- the organization needs detection, visibility, warning, blocking, quarantine, or controlled exceptions
- the requirement does not yet include the wider Purview or endpoint capability set
- existing Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace licenses remain valuable for productivity, identity, and collaboration
- a Sekurzen Guard proposal provides equivalent or better required outcomes at a lower total cost than an otherwise necessary suite upgrade or advanced add-on
As protection needs grow, Sekurzen Guard can continue to work alongside native platform capabilities for labels, encryption, endpoint protection, insider-risk context, records management, eDiscovery, or broader security operations. The right combination depends on the outcomes the business needs next.
Add protection without replacing what already works
Sekurzen Guard is designed to complement the collaboration platform a business already uses. Before deployment, agree on:
- which platform policy remains authoritative
- which data types and workloads Sekurzen Guard evaluates
- which product warns, blocks, or quarantines
- where users receive guidance
- who handles exceptions and incidents
- where evidence is retained
Before rollout, confirm the supported actions in the workloads your business uses, data residency and processing details, service levels, support model, and deployment responsibilities. For Microsoft 365, this includes Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Teams. For Google Workspace, this includes Gmail and Google Drive.
Compare the total cost
Use the same users, workloads, policy outcomes, service levels, and evaluation period when comparing approaches:
Three-year DLP cost = incremental licenses + implementation + infrastructure + administration + monitoring and response + support + expected cost of user disruption
For native Microsoft or Google controls, calculate only the incremental cost above licenses already committed. For Sekurzen Guard, request the subscription or protected-user cost, integration and deployment services, policy configuration, custom detectors, hosting or infrastructure, support, and expected administration effort.
Sekurzen Guard can be cost-effective when it meets the focused requirement without adding a broader suite simply to obtain DLP. A clear quote and a short, representative pilot help the business see the value in its own environment.
Run a comparable pilot
Use the same synthetic data and scenarios for every shortlisted option. Include matching and non-matching messages, documents, sharing actions, internal and external destinations, approved exceptions, prohibited actions, and the workload-specific user experience.
Measure detection accuracy, false positives, action correctness, exception behavior, latency, evidence quality, administration time, deployment dependencies, and user experience. Use the results to tune the first policy and plan the next protection scenario with confidence.
